Undine Interiors is a Seattle-based interior design studio specializing in residential and commercial projects. The work is grounded in the belief that good design is personal and intuitive, shaped by how a space is used, how it feels, and how it reflects both its surroundings and the people within it.

With a focus on interiors that feel collected rather than styled, the studio balances playful moments with timeless materials to create spaces that are soulful and functional.

ABOUT THE FOUNDER:

Margaret Undine grew up outside of Chicago, where an early love of drawing evolved into a lasting fascination with space and form. She spent her childhood sketching homes, reimagining her bedroom, and lobbying to redesign the family bathroom. Creativity was never a passing interest. It was the constant.

That instinct eventually became a clear calling: to make things, shape environments, and think spatially. Today, the same curiosity guides Margaret’s approach to interior design. She creates spaces that are thoughtful, expressive, and deeply connected to the people who use them.

Margaret earned her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of Cincinnati, where a rigorous, hands-on education and internships with a range of firms built a strong foundation. Early experience working on both residential and commercial projects gave her exposure to a wide range of project types and ways of thinking about space.

She began her career at Gary Lee Partners in Chicago, where she learned that luxury is not defined by budget alone, but by intention, craft, and clarity of thought. She later moved to Seattle and spent nine years at Olson Kundig, contributing to commercial, hospitality, multifamily, and custom residential projects. The studio’s emphasis on context, materiality, and experience further shaped her approach and deepened her belief in the connection between architecture, interiors, and place.

With over fifteen years of experience and NCIDQ certification, Margaret brings a thoughtful, nuanced perspective to each project. Her work balances playfulness with restraint, creating interiors that feel meaningful, lasting, and deeply attuned to how people live.

When she’s not designing, Margaret is enjoying life in West Seattle with her husband and two young children, making art with the kids or spending time outdoors, drawing daily inspiration from Seattle’s Pacific Northwest beauty.
